Company A -- Davis Company (raised in Itawamba County, MS) [also called Co. B]
Company B -- Fears Company (raised in Pontotoc County, MS) [also called Co. C]
Company C -- Pattons Company (raised in Pontotoc County, MS) [also called Co. E]
Company D -- Kohlheims Company (raised in Itawamba County, MS) [also called Co. F]
Company E -- Storys Company (raised in Itawamba County, MS) [also called Co. A]
Company F -- Hankins Company (raised in Itawamba County, MS) [also called Co. D]
Lieutenant-Colonel -- Thomas C. Ashcraft. Major -- E.L. Hankins. Adjutant -- L.S. Owen. Quartermaster -- James Noe. Assistant Surgeon -- N.R. McGaughey.
This battalion was part of the brigade of State troops under General Gholson, transferred to the Confederate States service May 1, 1864. Field officers, as above, were elected May 3, 1864. In June 1864, battalion was consolidated with Maj. T.W. Harris Battalion to form Ashcrafts Regiment, which see.
